The Friends are pleased to invite you to come meet our own Smyrna writers.

Sandra Chastain writes historical novels for Bantam, short contemporary romances for Harlequin, and southern women's fiction for Bellebooks. To date, she has produced 53 works, including her first fairy tale, The Tiniest Fairy In the Kingdom, published by Bellebooks. She writes under pennames Jenna Darcy and Allie Jordan as well as in her own name.

Ann Hite's personal essay, The Christmas Tree Hunter, appeared in Christmas Through A Child’s Eyes, published by Adams Media in October 2008. Surviving Mom, was part of Marlo Thomas’ latest collection, The Right Words At The Right Time, Vol., 2, which made number 14 on the New York Times Best Sellers List (May 14, 2006). She stated she writes mainstream/literary fiction and nonfiction for adults. Her stories and essays often times deal with harsh emotionally packed subjects. But, Ann has been known to write a happy story or two. Ann taught a one day writing workshop for the children’s department of the Smyrna Public Library.

Patricia Sprinkle, writer of Daughter of Deceit, The Remember Box, Carley’s Song, has written over 25 books of fiction. As a past president of Sisters in Crime she has been very active in promoting writing. Patricia has been a member of the Friends for several years. She has taught a summer writing class for middle school students through the Smyrna Public Library and sponsored by the Friends. Patricia was one of the original writers at "Murder Goes South" and has participated several times.
