The Friends of Smyrna Library has announced its featured guest for its August Third Thursday program. Heather Ivestor, originally from Smyrna and now living in Carrollton, Georgia, will discuss her writings and the influences for her latest book, "From a Daughter's Heart to Her Mom; 50 Reflections on Living Well." The event takes place Thursday, August 17 at 7:30 pm at the Smyrna Library in the downstairs meeting room at 100 Village Green Circle in the Smyrna Village.

"We are grateful that Heather will come back to Smyrna to spend an evening with us reflecting on her latest book," stated Linda Evans, president of the Friends of Smyrna Library organization. "One of the themes she will discuss will be the importance of the written word and the role it plays in collecting memories and sharing reflections across different generations. We expect it to be a thought-provoking discussion."

Tea With Sister Anna: A Paris Journal

Join us for a discussion of Tea with Sister Anna: A Paris Journal, with Rome, Georgia author Susan Gilbert Harvey.

Ms. Harvey will describe how the city of Paris became a catalyst for communion between two Georgia artists: herself and her great-aunt, Anna McNulty Lester who lived between 1862 and 1900.

You will enjoy her explanation of how she explored the back streets of Montparnasse in 1998 asking questions to uncover the mysteries of her great aunt's life in Paris and how the answers became an award-winning book!

Signed copies will be available for $20.
